Victor Hugo in Vianden

Im Jahre 1862, 1863 und 1865 verbringt Victor Hugos (1802-1885) einige Tage als Tourist während seines Exils als republikanischer Gegner Napoleon IIIs in Vianden. Nachdem er im Jahre 1871 nach der „Commune von Paris“ politischer Flüchtling geworden ist, findet er mit Vergnügen den Zauber der kleinen Stadt und den Empfang seiner Einwohner wieder. Vom 8. Juni bis zum 22. August während er über seine humanitäre Nachricht nachdenkt, schreibend und zeichnend, bewohnt er ein Haus (das heutige Museum Victor Hugo in Vianden.) mit Sicht auf die Our und das seinerseit verfallene Schloß.

En 1862, 1863 et 1865, pendant son exil comme opposant républicain à Napoléon III, Victor Hugo (1802-1885) passe quelques jours comme tourist à Vianden. En 1871, devenu réfugié politique après la Commune de Paris, il retrouve avec plaisir le charme de la petite ville et l'accueil de ses habitants. Du 8 juin au 22 août, écrivant et dessinant, méditant sur son message humanitaire, il occupe une maison (actuellement le musée de Victor Hugo à Vianden) avec vue sur l'Our et le château alors en ruine.

In 1862, 1863 and 1865 during his exile as a republican opponent to Napoleon III, Victor Hugo (1802-1885) passes some days as a tourist in Vianden. In 1871 becoming a political refugee after the “Paris 's Commune”, he refinds with pleasure the charm of the small city and the reception of its inhabitants. From June 8 to August 22, writing and drawing, thinking about his humanitarian message, he lives in a house (currently Victor Hugo 's museum at Vianden) with view of the Our and the, at that time, ruined castle.
